Whew, what a month! March can be condensed into three words: dreaming, scheming, and teeming. This month we’ve been setting our intentions and dreaming of where we want WITH(IN) to go, scheming up how to get there, all while the respite teems with new life! 🌀⌨️❇️💕✨

❇️ On March 4th we hosted our first ever poetry workshop, Dreaming of Homeplace. Thank you to all who attended! It was a beautiful, generative, Black creative space where we discussed the various ways home takes shape, the beauty and pitfalls of digital life, the end of the world, how it might not be so scary, all while using poems by Black poets Karisma Price, Marcus Wicker, and Saeed Jones to guide us. Be sure to check out the amazing poems generated by attendees in TWENTY minutes! And stay tuned for more workshops!

🌀 During the week of March 13th, WITH(IN).DIGITAL team member Bri hosted a weeklong IG story takeover and shared their life as a biscuit slinging, multimedia art making, graduate student studying modern and contemporary art history at SAIC. They traveled across the midwest from Cleveland,Ohio to Chicago, Illinois where they saw the one and only Kelela and viewed art by artists from across the African diaspora. We hope you enjoyed learning more about the people who make WITH(IN).DIGITAL happen!

⌨️ On Wednesday, we hosted our first Curated Convo of WITH(IN) Volume Two with multi-disciplinary artist Antonia B. Larkin! It was a great conversation talking about the Black South, containing multitudes as Black women, honoring our lineages, digital art, and more. View the recording here! Audio version coming soon.
💕 Can you believe that one year ago on April 4th we relaunched as WITH(IN).DIGITAL 2.0?
It’s been an incredible year of connecting with Black artists about their practices and diving deep into what it means to be a Black artist creating today. And we’ve only just begun! Our one year anniversary is coming up in a few days, and we plan to celebrate with y’all on IG Live next Saturday 4/8, so stay tuned for those details!
